State guide
Tennessee glamping starts where the blue mist does. The Great Smoky Mountains, America's most-visited national park, anchor the state's outdoor stays: safari tents and domes on the park's doorstep in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, quieter creekside yurts on the Cosby side, and full-service glamping resorts along the Little River in Townsend. Few states pack this much variety into a long weekend's drive.
East of the Smokies the terrain keeps delivering. The Cumberland Plateau rises in sandstone cliffs and waterfall country, where yurts and treehouses sit minutes from the cascades of Savage Gulf and South Cumberland. Around Chattanooga, mountaintop treehouses and domes overlook the Tennessee River Gorge, and an off-grid A-frame community keeps things wild just 20 minutes from downtown.
Middle Tennessee plays a different game: lakes and farmland. Center Hill Lake and Dale Hollow Lake draw dome and tiny-cabin glamping within two hours of Nashville, while working farms from McEwen to Henderson rent treehouses, hobbit holes, and vintage Airstreams with winery tastings and fireflies thrown in. It's the easiest glamping in the state to reach from a major city.
Come for the setting, stay for the seasons. Spring brings wildflowers and full waterfalls, summer brings lake swimming and cool mountain nights, fall brings the South's best leaf color, and winter brings quiet trails and the year's lowest rates. Heated domes, yurts, and tiny homes make Tennessee a genuine year-round glamping state.
